Organic Fenugreek Herbal Capsules For Increased Breastmilk Supply
200 count - 2 week supply *
400 count - 4 week supply *
( * if the typical serving size does not increase production enough, follow directions below. )
Each dose (3 capsules) contains 425mg organic Fenugreek.
Fenugreek is one of the most effective herbs for increasing breast milk production. It has even been known to help adoptive moms nurse their adoptive babies! Fenugreek is not for use during pregnancy but is completely safe for nursing mom and baby - even in large amounts taken long term. The herbalist behind Herb Lore was able to nurse her daughter until the age of 3!
Fenugreek works by stimulating body secretions, breast milk being one of them. The herb must be used with consistency to experience best results. Once you begin taking Fenugreek, consistency with the herb's usage is crucial. Abruptly stopping or taking it inconsistently can result in a sudden decrease or inconsistency in milk supply.
Special Considerations :
- A low percentage of moms and babies may experience gas. If this is the case for you, you can take Nursing Tea, Nursing Tincture, or Tummy Tea, in addition to the Fenugreek, to help alleviate the gas.
- Fenugreek, when used in very large doses can lower blood sugar levels, insulin-dependent diabetics should use the herb with caution or not at all. Contact your doctor before considering Fenugreek.
- Fenugreek is a member of the legume family, so people with sensitivities or allergies should also avoid.
- Fenugreek should not be used by pregnant women due to its slight uterine stimulating properties.
Fenugreek Usage Instructions:
The recommended dose is 3 capsules 3x daily if you need only a moderate increase, or 5 capsules if you need a more significant increase. If this amount is not adequate, you may safely increase the dose until you find the right amount that works for you.
If you become overly full or engorged, decrease the amount. Your dosage may be further tailored to your needs by increasing the dose to support your typical low production time and lowering the dose during to fuller times.
For example, if you tend to wake up in the morning fairly full, but experience low production in the afternoon and evening hours, you may want to take your 5 capsules in the morning and 5 again at noontime, and then decrease it by one at your evening dose, so that you don't wake up so full and engorged.
Many clients have reported an increase in milk production about 3 hours after taking the herb, but typically you will see results in 12-24 hours.
Once the milk supply has been established and is stable, one can gradually wean down from the herb until it is eliminated altogether. Doing it slowly should not impact the milk supply.
