Maca is a root crop related to the radish family that grows in the mineral rich highlands of Peru in the Andes Mountains at 14,000 ft. elevation.
Research has shown that Maca Root contains no plant hormones, but its action relies on plant sterols, which act as chemical triggers to help the body produce a higher level of hormones appropriate to the age and gender of the person taking it.
Used by the Inca and earlier Peruvian cultures for more than 1,500 years to increase endurance, energy, mental clarity, fertility and sexual ability. Maca is also used for stress reduction, hormonal balance and to promote the growth of healthy hair, bones, teeth and muscle tone.
For Women :
Maca Root had been used successfully by Peruvians to regulate hormonal imbalances, menstrual irregularities, fertility and menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, osteoporosis, loss of energy and libido and temporary depression in women.
For Men :
Maca has been shown to increase male libido and sperm production in studies.
Use :
Powdered Format (1500 mg Maca per 1/2 tsp)
Mix 1/2 to 1 teaspoons of Maca Magic with 8-16 oz water, soy or rice milk, your favorite beverage or mixed with yogurt, oatmeal, or other breakfast cereal. PERFECT FOR SMOOTHIES!
To prevent GI upset, it is suggested to take take 1/4 teaspoon to no more than 1/2 teaspoon per day, to start with, and slowly increase to recommended dosage. After three months of use, stop for one month before resuming.
Capsules (500 mg Maca per capsule)
As a dietary supplement take 2-6 capsules a day as needed.
