Getting Equipped for Pregnancy
Getting pregnant today can be much easier and more efficient than it was just 50 years ago or so. There are many different types of supplies on the market, all of which are aimed to get past some of the more common and basic fertility challenges and help you conceive as soon as possible. Here’s a look at some of the most common types of equipment that couples may consider using when they’re trying to get pregnant:
Ovulation predicting supplies
You can’t get pregnant if you’re not ovulating. If you don’t know when you ovulate, trying to get pregnant really is just guesswork. Fortunately, there are a number of different types of products out there that you can use to help predict when you might ovulate.
One of the most common types of ovulation prediction supplies is a basal body thermometer. Your basal body temperature is the temperature of your body the first thing in the morning before you get out of bed and start to do anything for the day. Your basal body temperature will spike a bit when you approach ovulation. This lets you know that it’s time to try to conceive.
There are more extensive ovulation predicting options, as well. There are ovulation prediction kits that will help chart things like cervical mucus changes. There are fertility monitors that can help you to determine when you’re going to be fertile. A fertility monitor can be quite expensive, although in many cases it can be the most effective of the ovulation prediction products.
Nutritional supplies
Maca and other nutritional supplements have been shown to have a significantly positive effect on the odds that a woman will become pregnant. There are Maca supplements specifically formulated for fertility. There are other fertility supplements available, as well.
In many cases, these fertility supplements will also contain ingredients that will help your pregnancy in those early days, often before you actually know you’re pregnant. Consider a nutritional supplement with folic acid and iron in order to get the best boost in this area.
Other nutritional supplies may be designed to help increase your cervical mucus, or increase the quality of your cervical mucus. An OTC product called guaifenesin can also help in this regard. Mucinex is a brand name of this ingredient but most drug stores also have private label versions of it.
If you’re having trouble getting pregnant, talk to your doctor about what some of the possible complications might be, as well as what your best course of treatment may be as well.
