Can You Try for a Specific Gender?

Do you have a little boy and are dying for a little girl? Or, would a little boy make your family complete? Regardless of what gender you want to have there are ways that you can naturally help nature along. There are no guarantees that you will have the gender you are trying for, but many couples do experience success when it comes to trying naturally for a specific gender.

Gender selection through informal methods includes having intercourse at specific times of the month. For example, intercourse a few days before ovulation is best for trying to conceive a girl because female sperm live longer than their male counterparts. This means that when you do ovulate you are more likely to have an X sperm fertilize the egg, resulting in a little girl. On the other hand, if you are trying for a boy then you should have intercourse the day of ovulation as male sperm are faster swimmers and more likely to reach the egg first. This would result in a baby boy.

Another recommendation for a little boy is to have intercourse in a way that speeds up the sperms travel to the egg. When intercourse is engaged in this manner and within 24 hours of ovulation then it is more likely that a little boy will be conceived. However, if a little girl is on your mind then you should use the missionary position and engage in intercourse as much as possible from the beginning of the cycle until ovulation. Couples who use these techniques when trying for a specific gender are successful more often than not, but keep in mind there are no guarantees and it’s impossible to determine naturally what gender your child will be.

It’s important to not get your hopes up too high, however, when using methods such as these to informally choose a specific gender. All kinds of things can affect whether or not you become pregnant with a little girl or a little boy and it truly is best to let nature take its course. What’s most important is a healthy baby and that’s what you should be trying for. Little girls and little boys are both precious and make wonderful additions to any family.
